Another afternoon of procrastinating, but this time in the name of celebrating Easter. And recovering from Campania. We had another awesome week away from the Centro, with stops including a full ELEVEN HOURS in Pompeii and a half day in Herculaneum (much cooler - Pompeii may have quantity, but Herculaneum has
quality). Also in the name of "celebrating" Easter, I've been doing some scrapbooking. And munching on an Easter egg that goes up to my hip, but that is darling Pina's doing, not mine.
I brought my computer, but not EHD, to Campania, so was left with a random assortment of pictures to work with at the beginning of the week when I still had energy and wasn't collapsing into bed after dinner. At least I got day 1 of the trip done?
Journaling: First day of the Campania trip! We started out early, with our first stop at the Temple to Jupiter Anxor in Terracina. The site had both gorgeous ocean views and a large quantity of Roman concrete barrel vaults holding up terracing. We weandered throught he town and the old Forum, and ended up down by the sea. From there we drove to Sperlonga to see the statue groups (both Scylla and the blinding of Prometheus) found in Tiberius’s Grotto. The last site of the day was John’s presentation, which required a rather strenous uphill 26 minute journey to visit a mausoleum, and another half hour downhill before we could go to the Villa Vergiliana, Franco’s home, for an amazing dinner with fresh baked bread, still warm from the oven! They also have the remains of an amphitheater out back.

I also got a few DLRP pages done for various challenges at Mousescrappers. Here is our epic journey through Paris, and the reason that I continue to not be fond of the country as a whole. The photo was pre-"someone is under the train" time.
More evidence that I am going completely insane in a foreign country.
"Melissa only had one food request in Paris - a Croque-Monsieur. It’s essentially a ham and cheese sandwich, only French and better. Somehow, while telling everyone that this was what she wanted, someone misheard her and thought she wanted a “croc monster.” The name stuck, so naturally we had to keep our eyes open. We had orignally been planning on either fake French barbecue or eating in the other park, but on our way into the park in the morning we noticed one sandwich shop, the Market House Deli, sold the magical sandwiches. Naturally, we had to come back for lunch and take our croc monster pictures. The croc monster also ended up being the best meal I had all weekend."
And if that wasn't enough, here is public proof that the Centro is completely messing with our world view (not in a negative way, just a crazy way).
I also got done one of the 2009 princess pages that has been sitting on my hard drive, waiting to get done.
That's enough for today, and now I need to go find something productive to do. As in, the laundry that has been sitting in the dryer for an hour, oops.
